Locket is an inspired story that focuses on what could have been if certain situations in life never happened.  It challenges everyday life within contemporary society that people face which leads to the ultimate question: Would you trade your life for another... but at what cost. 

 

There is no doubt that people have experienced broken homes, divorce and loss. There is also no doubt that within some cultural families, the idea of diverse love is still typically frowned upon within modern society. A lot of the issues people face, may forms the roots of Mental Health however, the film follows the theme of finding appreciation in life, offering hope and conveying across strength into leading your own life.

Maya's storyline sets in a traditional, cultural family, to which it slowly introduces to us that her true reality is a broken home, with an abusive father who is no longer in the picture. As her reality unravels she finds that there are people missing from her life, confused and conflicted, she chases after the truth, in which she realises the locket, is the nostalgic resemblance of the life she once had.
